a tree fell down 3.5 years ago and now it's just hanging out. I know you can call a few dudes and give them a 100$ and it's gone... but i am a cheap son of a bitch.
should i pack it with some m80s or chain it to the t5?

what the hell do you do with a tree stump?

i think if i can get it out of the ground i can dump it out at a place... like to rot at my friends place... maybe they'll burn it.
i guess the trick is also getting it into something. this is all so complicate. |

My friend just had (small) 5 stumps ground out/down below surface to allow planting over the roots++ (he paid $100.00). He used a guy by the name of Hirshal
Hayes (I could not find him listed on google, maybe check yellow pages under tree stump removal) you may consider getting a bid from him and save yourself the
head/back ache of doing the work yourself. If you do get it out on your own, you could dispose of stump at Roberts Rd & McKinnley (Dublin yard waste
collection site), I think it's free to drop it at that location. There is also Ohio Multch right next to it were I picked up a load of topsoil a few weeks
ago. Hope this helps.

I've heard of this technique but never known anyone who actually did it. Build a fire ring around the stump and have a nice yard bonfire. Nothing huge,
but a nice long burning campfire kind of thing right on top of it. I'm told it burns the stump down. Probably be worth it to carve into it to allow the
flame easier access.
Btw, have some marshmellows on hand and some sand/water if the fire dept. comes by. While bonfires are not permitted in the city, cooking fires are fine. So as long as you are cooking, and it looks safe, you should be OK. Of course, if the stump is right next to your house, disregard. |

i am pretty excited about the concept of burning it out. but i think it is only like 15 feet from the house.
maybe i'll dig the yard out around it... expose all the roots. then it will be a "feature". nice to know about the yard waste dumping ground. thanks. |
